Stefano Valenti and Mirko Zapponi declare: “We decided to review and recommend a TV series (“The end of the f***ing world”) that we have seen on our own. It has just come out and we have appreciated it a lot. It seemed unusual and well done, so we wanted to share it with the school newspaper to let other students to know it.”
The Netflix original series ‘The End of The F*****g World’ tells the story of two social outcasts teenagers named James and Alyssa who become bored of their boring and miserable lives. When they met the sparkle was triggered, so they decided to “f*** all up” (Just to stay tuned with the title of the series) and go on a road trip across England managing to find trouble at every corner. Oh, I was missing that James believes himself to be a psychopath and has the hobby of killing small animals, but now he is determined to kill a human and Alyssa seems the perfect choice.
However, Alyssa does not joke as well with her serious anger issues caused by a turbulent home-life.
The chemistry between the two protagonists, James and Alyssa, is fantastic as it has so much depth in the relationship with many different emotions such as awkwardness, teenage anxiety, love and comedy.
The supporting characters are also very well developed and you will know who you would love and who you would disliked.
The story telling of this series is very simple and it has the capacity to combine dark moments with humor, however giving you a twist of lighthearted warmth and comedy leaving you with the desire to watch another episode. The series has only 8 episodes and each one is about 20 minutes long, so they give you a quick and enjoyable mess to cope with at every episode ending credits.
Everything in ‘TEOTFW’ collaborate to create a fantastic series with a brilliant performance all around, a great story and a mixture of dark and lighthearted moments making it an emotional rollercoaster. It screams youth from everywhere, so I cannot not recommend it to all of the youngsters who are reading this… and for I recommend I mean you must watch it! Come on… who do not want to see the end of this “The end of the F***ing world”? You know I will not tell it. 😉
